This week on the Capes and Tights Podcast we welcome Kenny Meyers and Travis Schmeisser to discuss their comic book store and reading app Omnibus recently released on the App Store.
Omnibus is a digital comic book store and reader created by Kenny and Travis. They both have extensive experience in web companies and UX, such as Reddit and Square, and both are, first and foremost dedicated digital comics readers.
With the downslide of ComiXology over the years, Kenny and Travis opted to create their own thing and contend for a share of the digital comics market. The app rolled out in May to iPad users, still the best device on the market for reading digital comics, and the team is working daily to grow the platform.
You would think the digital reading apps have improved over time with technology, but something has still been off on most of them. The creative team behind this new app is working towards making it easy, fun, and worthwhile reading digitally once again! This app was created for comic book fans by comic book fans.
Many of your favorite publishers have jumped on board including BOOM! Studios, Image Comics, Vault Comics, Mad Cave Studios, Dark Horse, and many more!
